Service Period: 1 year (Contract managed and provided by Lincolnshire community health services trust)
Provision of Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) under PGD from North Lincolnshire Community Pharmacies to women aged between 13-19 years (or up to 25 years where a special educational needs statement is in place).
Pharmacies can formally express their interest in providing this service by completing and submitting their Expression of Interest Form via email to licb.lchscontracts@nhs.net.
This service can be provided by registered healthcare professionals listed in the legislation as able to practice under Patient Group Directions.
Training:
The service must be delivered by a pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician who has completed their CPPE Declaration of Competency self-assessment framework for Emergency contraception (https://www.cppe.ac.uk/services/declaration-of-competence2?srv=1#doc) and must be recorded on the PharmOutcomes platform.
PGDs:
PGDs will be shared directly with pharmacies by the commissioner.
Copies of the signed PGDs must be retained within the pharmacy and be available for inspection if requested. Pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians providing EHC via PGD across a number of pharmacies must sign the PGD at each pharmacy where they deliver the service.
