Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF)

The Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) is made up of the following elements, visit the CPE website for full details:

Essential services and clinical governance which are provided by all pharmacy contractors and are commissioned by NHS England.
Advanced services which can be provided by all contractors once accreditation requirements have been met and are commissioned by NHS England.
Locally commissioned services commissioned by Local Authorities, Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS England (i.e. “Enhanced Services” outlined in the Drug Tariff) in response to the needs of the local population.
Contract monitoring.

In July 2019, Community Pharmacy England, NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) agreed a five-year deal for community pharmacies, guaranteeing funding levels until 2023/24. The deal secures pharmacy funding and sets out a clear vision for the expansion of clinical service delivery over the next five years, in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
