Walk in my shoes

Humber LPC with the support from the NHS England area team and the LMC are rolling out a project called ‘Walk in my Shoes’. We would like to ascertain if any pharmacy contractors would be interested in taking part in this project throughout the Humber locality. We are looking for staff from pharmacies in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire to take part.

To date we have 38 pharmacies and 30 practices signed up to the WIMS project.

The ‘Walk in my Shoes’ project is an Inter-Professional Exchange project in which staff from GP practices are given the opportunity to visit community pharmacies and community pharmacy staff are given the opportunity to visit GP practices. The idea is to give GP teams and pharmacy teams the opportunity to experience life in primary care from a different perspective, and to learn with and from each other to build relationships, improve systems and identify solutions together to improve patient care.

If this is of interest to your pharmacy, please could you contact Anthony Bryce, Health Integration Lead at Humber LPC via email: a.bryce@nhs.net, to arrange a meeting to discuss this project further and to see whether we can match the pharmacy with a participating GP practice in your local area.
