East Riding of Yorkshire:

Healthy Mindsis a new mental health campaign that launched on Saturday, 10th October 2020 – World Mental Health Day – to help break down the stigma associated with mental health and encourage people to seek help when they need it. Healthy Minds in East Riding was created to better help the residents of the East Riding to improve their mental health, recognise when they might be starting to struggle and know where and when to seek support. Reach out Project – Hull and East Yorkshire MIND 

Offering open access to services promoting mental health and wellbeing through one to one support sessions, a variety of courses and workshops along with service user led social groups. The project offers a wide range of support options to residents of the East Riding of Yorkshire aged 16 and above who are experiencing mental health problems. They have an information service which acts as a first point of contact for people  for advice or referral.

Social Prescribing Service

Feel like no one has time to listen to you?  The Social Prescribing service provides a totally confidential service to discuss the things that affect you and your health and well-being, it will then work with and support you to access appropriate local services, groups and amenities to help you improve your situation.

Situated in the majority of GP practices, the Link workers will listen and help you to arrive at the best solution for you, it can advise and support you with a wide variety of issues and can be accessed via a participating GP surgery without a referral.

The YOURhealth team have designed an Isolation and Loneliness booklet for service users, carers and patients to help support those who may be battling with loneliness and isolation and will hopefully be a daily reminder of how they can gain help, support, and reach out for help if needed.

There are many services available across the East Riding that can provide befriending, guidance, and are available to reach out to, and we hope this guide will offer even the smallest comfort, alongside the offer of a referral into the Social Prescribing service which can be made 7 days a week.
