This service will supersede the current Hull Supervised Consumption service on the 1st August 2026

Aims and intended outcomes of the service:
The service aims to provide a quality, holistic service to people engaged with substance misuse services and enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals affected by drugs.
Community pharmacies will collaborate with drug and alcohol treatment services to:
- Promote engagement with treatment.
- Manage risks such as drug-related deaths, overdose and other threats to health.
This will be achieved through provision of a user-friendly, non-judgemental, person-centred and confidential service which comprises of four elements:
- Supervised consumption (where prescribed).
- Reporting all missed and late pick-ups in real-time (via an interoperable IT system using PharmOutcomes) to allow the ReNew (CGL) service to monitor treatment adherence and provide follow up and support to the individual.
- Provision of wellbeing support at the request of the service user.
- An optional annual pharmacist review.

01/08/2026 – 31/07/2028

Training:
Read the Service Level Agreement and complete the necessary training/CPD to provide the service.
CGL will provide update training (suitable for all members of the pharmacy team) as and when required in agreement with Humber LPC.
Pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians providing the service must complete the CPPE Declaration of Competence (DoC) for Supervised Consumption of Prescribed Medicines and consent for this to be shared with PharmOutcomes. Refresher training is to be undertaken in line with the requirement to update the DoC every 2 years.
Claims:
All missed and late pick-up must be reported via the PharmOutcomes platform within one working day.
All claims to be submitted via the PharmOutcomes platform. All payment claims will be submitted via the PharmOutcomes automated mechanism on the 4th day of the month.
