Bowel Cancer awareness month

Bitesize sessions available during April 2024

To mark Bowel Cancer Awareness Month (April 2024), the Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance is offering free bitesize awareness sessions during the month.

Bowel cancer can affect anyone and can be found anywhere in the large bowel, which includes the colon and rectum.  It is also one of the most commonly diagnosed types of cancer in the UK.

Our bitesize sessions include;

  • the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer
  • bowel screening – when you are invited and how to complete the test
  • how to reduce your risk of bowel cancer
  • inherited genes and cancer.

These sessions will all be held virtually and will be about 30 minutes in length. They are available on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 2nd April at 10:00
  • Wednesday 3rd April at 13:00
  • Friday 5th April at 16:00
  • Monday 8th April at 11:00
