Health Inequalities and Core20PLUS5 for Neighbourhood Health Workers

The Royal Society for Public Health is excited to offer open training sessions for frontline and community workers Health Inequalities and Core20PLUS5 for Neighbourhood Health Workers.

This public health training also has a focus on implementing the Core20PLUS5 framework and aims to help individuals looking to develop their skills and capabilities in reducing health inequalities and improving community health and wellbeing within their existing job and volunteer roles. This training is suitable for anyone working in neighbourhood health and wellbeing roles, such as community health workers, health navigators, social prescribers, charity and education roles involving health advice, and support workers

The RSPH Level 2 Award in Public Health qualification is the core component of this training, and with added support to develop the skills to apply the Core20PLUS5 framework in communities.

Learners will gain skills and knowledge related to:

• Roles and responsibilities for supporting public health
• The importance of health promotion and disease prevention
• How to identify and manage public health risks
• Communication and behaviour change skills
• Core20PLUS5 principles and how to put them into practice

The training will take place virtually on Microsoft Teams with our expert trainers, and is being offered for a range of dates from August 2026 until the end of the year. Please see the Events page on the RSPH website for more details and to book your place.
