PQS Hub updated and quality criterion starting from the 1st September


PSNC has updated its PQS Hub following further PQS details published in the September Drug Tariff, please see details on the links below.

Contractors should also be aware of the implementation date of the 1st September for the ‘Inhaler disposal’ quality criterion, part of the Respiratory domain. Please see links below for more information.

PQS: Additional information published in the Drug Tariff:
The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) published the September 2021 Drug Tariff, which contains further detail on the 2021/22 Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) requirements in Part VIIA.

PSNC has updated its PQS hub page to reflect the additional information that has now been published on the Scheme, and resources and FAQs to support contractors will continue to be added to this page.

NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) will publish their PQS guidance shortly; PSNC will alert contractors through the usual communication channels when this is available.

PQS quality criterion starting from 1st September 2021:
Following publication of the September 2021 Drug Tariff, community pharmacy contractors should note that the ‘Inhaler disposal’ quality criterion, part of the Respiratory domain for the 2021/22 PQS, will need to be implemented from 1st September 2021.
