Headaches and Migraines Awareness Session for staff

September 23^rd-29^th 2024 is Migraine Awareness week and Humber & North Yorkshire Health & Care Partnership are delighted that Neurologist Professor Fayyaz Ahmed will be joining them to deliver an awareness session on headaches and migraines. Professor Ahmed is an expert in the field of headaches and migraines and will be delivering a 40 minute awareness session followed by a 20 minute Q&A. This session will be delivered virtually and is free for all staff and volunteers to access – session details below:

Monday, September 23^rd 2024, 12-1pm

This session will cover:

• Different types of headaches
• Secondary headaches and how to recognise them
• Various types of migraines
• Impact of migraines on Activities of Daily Living
• How to treat acutely
• What preventive treatments are available.
• Current recommendations for both acute and preventive treatments

This session is open to anybody and may be helpful to those suffering with headaches and/or migraines and line managers/ colleagues who want to understand how they can support those individuals.
