Free Bitesize Bowel Cancer Awareness Sessions

Bowel Cancer awareness month – bitesize sessions available during April 2025.

April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month. Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance is supporting national campaigns to raise awareness by offering free 25 minute online bitesize awareness sessions during the month.

Bowel cancer can affect anyone and can be found anywhere in the large bowel, which includes the colon and rectum. It is also one of the most commonly diagnosed types of cancer in the UK.

Our bitesize session will include information about;

• the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer
• bowel screening – when you are invited and how to complete the test
• how to reduce your risk of bowel cancer
• inherited genes and cancer.

These sessions will all be held virtually and will be about 25 minutes in length. They are available on the following dates:

• Tuesday 1st April at 12:00
• Friday 4th April at 16:00
• Monday 7th April at 10:00
• Thursday 10th April at 15:30
• Thursday 17th April at 13:00
• Wednesday 23rd April at 09:30
• Wednesday 23rd April at 19:00
• Friday 25th April at 12:30
• Wednesday 30th April at 11:00

Following the success of previous bitesize sessions we have held, once these sessions start to be booked up, we will aim to add further ones. Please do let us know if you are interested in attending and cannot make the current dates and we will ensure that you are made aware when we add further dates.
