Depression and the new NMS service – in collaboration with CPPE

11th November 2025 6.30pm for Food and event to start at 7pm

The Village Hotel, Henry Boot Way, Priory Park East, HU4 7DY

As pharmacy professionals, we are in a unique position to support people living with depression. Yet many of us feel uncertain about how to start these conversations, fearing we might say the wrong thing or cause harm. The reality is that avoiding the conversation can leave people feeling unseen, unheard and unsupported.

Do you feel confident to start a conversation about depression, use appropriate phrases and to discuss options for managing it?
Can you tailor support to individual needs of the person, recognise when an urgent referral is needed and appropriately refer?

This session is designed to give you the confidence and skills to approach discussions about depression and suicidal thoughts with sensitivity, awareness and compassion whilst reflecting and recognising your support needs, needs that arise from conversations about depression, and creating a signposting resource to use in your practice.

Addition of Depression to the New Medicines Service will launch on the 29th of October 2025. Details of the eligible anti-depressant medications included in the NMS service have been announced and can be viewed here: NMS Eligible Drug List – August 2025 v1.1 FINAL DRAFT.xlsx

Note: CPPE pre-reading will be circulated a few weeks prior to the event with additional materials shared afterwards.
